The Neighborhood Dikkaneh XII (Last one)

Some dikkanehs have diversified and organized themselves into a ‘specialty’ store, such as this one; household goods. Imagine that he's got to haul all this junk twice a day!! That in itself demands respect (as far as I am concerned).

This is the last one in the series of neighborhood dikkanehs. If you have seen all 12, I assume you share my strange passion for these small hubs of economical neighborhood activity (Or you must be incredibly bored). To me, these little stores is (among a number of things) what makes Beirut what it is; a big city with cosmopolitan dreams and a small town mentality. And I am back in business.

Fijne tijd in NL gehad? Leuke stukjes over de 'buurtsuper'in Libanon maar ik begin nu je verse stukjes wel een beetje te missen!

And why this sudden outburst over "thugs, incompetents, crooks, ignoramuses, radicals and extremists" that are running Lebanon into the ravine in your previous post? Anything changed while you were away this summer? Y.
