Back to the Motherland

The annual trek back to the motherland has been made. Ik will be spending my summer in the land of the million bicycles. No, not China. Holland.

I recently told a friend that in Holland, I went through some 5 bicycles while in university. It's only the first bike that you pay for. At least, that's how it was done in my days. Once your bike got stolen, you sort of entered into that same mode. They stole yours, you stole someone else's, and that someone else would then proceed to steal someone else's and eventually, the person who had stolen your bicycle would have that bike stolen from him/her, and then the circle would be round. She thought that quite odd.

And so I leave you with a short film of the bicycle traffic in my hometown. I wish you all a safe summer, and hope to see you again September.

I will miss reading your blog, but then I'll be busy with Sami and Barby the next few weeks.

Enjoy your vacation.

I love this! What a different life from Beirut..wow. Do you still ride a bike around..(or steal someone else's bike?) You know, for old-times sake?

Hehe that is so much like Göteborg! Here they say that you never really own your bike, the city does.

Enjoy the holidays ! :)
