Good point Myrthe. I don't know for sure it was a woman, but I inferred it was a woman because the police officer was filling out paperwork on the hood of a car on the opposite side of the road with a rather distressed looking lady next to him and no man. That's why I thought it probably was a woman, but I'll eat humble pie if it turns out I was wrong
