Beirut Manhole Covers

Ever heard of train spotters; those nuts that track trains, and fill entire albums of train pictures?
Well, it can get worse. Inspired by this guy, I started today of collection of Lebanese manhole covers.
It seems there is an entire other world out there, focused on man hole covers.

You may wonder; doesn’t this woman have anything else to do? As a matter of fact, I have a million things to do. Too many. This is just an addition to my already heavily multi-tasked life.

Hi Sietske,
I made a few during last week on occasion of my first visit to Beirut.
The same thing I did earlier in my hometown Eindhoven.
But I don't have a collection as big as the twoo you mention.

interesting topic. Now, be a investigative journalist and go look up the guy in charge of purchasing the manholes for Beirut. You'd be surprised how many fascinating stories you might hear (and I'm not being sarcastic).

Remember Nahr al Bared prison escape a few weeks back: they went via the sewers. Betcha the guy in charge of the sewers would have a say about that! Plenty of stuff might be going on in the sewers of Beirut as well.

I like that idea. Am going to pursue it, Riemer.
