Portraits III

Another one of Bashir Gemayel. “Photography isn't my only hobby, I think I mentioned this before but I also like spray painting.”
A stencil graffiti of Yasser Arafat in Burj el-Barajneh refugee camp in south Beirut, the largest refugee camp in Lebanon's capital. (Both images come from Flickr. They're linked to the source)

my personal favorite is one of a goofy Bush in red paint with "Bush not my friend" under it in Arabic. i saw it once in wardiyeh, went back to snap a photo and it was gone.

i've been paying attention today and i think it's something global: here in Amsterdam i saw a spray-painting of a naked woman (seen from the back) and, more interesting maybe, a portrait of Anne Frank wearing a kuffiah, a red-checkered 'Palestinian' scarf, around her neck. Not sure about the message of the spray-painter...

Er is er ook ééntje van een jongetje dat tegen een bom aanschopt op de muur aan je rechterhand als je rechts langs de Medical Gate van AUB naar beneden gaat (dat is tegen het verkeer in).
